ITALIAN COUNTRY VILLA
A stunning five double bedroom retreat with an oversized swimming pool, a large games room which has the full-sized Snooker table, plus other entertainment and BBQ areas. A very special holiday accommodation and location. Once a working farmhouse. The Italian tradition is that the family live on the first floor. The centre of the home is the kitchen and dining area, for the whole family to greet and eat and discuss everything. Oxen lived on the ground floor and were used for ploughing. The other areas were for the wine and tomato pressing, storage for olive oil, olives, wine, bottled tomato products and preserves. We love the position of the villa, half way between the mountains and sea, close to shops, restaurants, and yet so peaceful in the countryside. We renovated the villa in 2004/5, and it is much loved by the family, friends and guests.
THE REGION....Marche.
Known as Italy’s Secret, is also called The Heart of Italy. From the Apennine Mountains to the Adriatic Sea, the views are breath taking . Surrounding the villa are rolling hills of wheat, alfalfa, sunflowers, olive trees and grapes, with Medieval villages and towns perched high. Marche has a thriving food and wine culture. The quality of fresh local meat, salume, fish, fruit and vegetables is unrivalled. The restaurants serve well priced traditional local food. Both local red and white wine are of D.O.C quality, and there are many wineries you can visit. Contacts for this at the villa. The beach in Senigallia has the finest sand in Europe and is safe for children, with amenities for them and adults at a small cost.
THE GARDEN
Fenced throughout for safety and privacy. 2 Large Lawns, Olive, Mulberry and Fig Trees. Shaded toddlers play area under a pergola with swing. Swimming Pool. 40 x 20 ft. 4-8 ft. deep. Comfortable loungers shaded by an especially crafted Mulberry Tree, a natural 23ft. umbrella Veranda ; the most popular area outside, with tables and chairs for 10, stone BBQ, lighting and Fan. Breakfast Bar; morning sun for 2 people Treetops; cooler under the Mulberry tree, table for 2, excellent views Bella Vista; where you drink in the panorama of Marche rolling hills up to the mountains, shaded with bamboo and climbing plants, with Table and chairs.
GROUND FLOOR
1000 sq. ft. kitchen/dinner/lounge area. Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Play Room with toys /ironing facilities. Bathroom with walk in shower, w/c etc. Staircase to first floor The well equipped kitchen is big enough for family cooking. Granite worktops and shelves + centre island. Large gas /electric cooker and fridge freezer. Water and wine in the fridge to get you started! Microwave, toaster, kettle, sandwich maker, dishwasher. The granite dining table seats 12 plus 2 high chairs. There is comfortable seating in the lounge. along with a circular games table with 4 bucket chairs. Large TV with wifi/ Satellite connections / DVD's and Wifi printer.
